Westby Montana

Located in: Missouri River Country

Westby was originally located in North Dakota and settled by homesteaders of Danish origin. 'By' in their native tongue meant town and being the most westerly community in North Dakota, it became known as Westby. With the development of the railroad, the community was moved to its current location in Montana.

Westby is located in the very most northeastern corner of Montana, on the North Dakota border, ten miles south of the Canadian border.
