Thank you for inquiring about the historic Tamarack Lodge and Motel! Our historic log lodge (built in 1907) and motel (all new in 2003) is situated in a spectacular mountain valley in the midst of the Montana Rockies and is surrounded by Flathead National Forest. This is 'Big Sky Country' at its finest! the Flathead river (with its blue ribbon trout fishing) is across the road. Flathead Lake (the largest freshwater lake West of the Mississippi) is a short, scenic drive South. The Big Sky Waterslide (the largest in the Great Northwest) is just 4 miles away and many tourist destinations are within a couple of miles (Glacier Maze, House of Mystery, Hungry Horse Dam, etc). The Flathead Valley is also home to eight world-class golf courses! Here you can do it all - hiking, biking, photography, fishing, boating and floating to your hearts content, then relax here at the lodge, dine in one of the valleys fine restaurants and unwind in the sheer beauty and spectacular scenery of the Glacier National Park area.

Our guests appreciate our 'old west style' facilities including a 'AAA' rated eight unit motel with both one and two bed units (completely renovated in '03). We also have three private chalets available by request and the Bed & Breakfast in the historic lodge is open for use by our guests. Directions: Historic Tamarack Lodge & Motel is located on US Highway 2 between Hungry Horse and Coram, just 8 miles from the west entrance to Glacier/Waterton International Parks. It is 12 miles to Whitefish and The Big Mountain skiing and Glacier International Airport in only 10 miles away.
