Granite Park Chalet was built in 1914 by the Great Northern Railroad and is designated a National Historic Landmark. It was one of eight backcountry chalets, of which only two exist today. Most of these chalets, built with natural materials at the turn of the century, were a full day trip away from the handful of Grand Lodges in the newly established Park.

Spend a night or two at the chalet exploring the variety of hiking trails nestled near the Continental Divide or simply relax on the porch taking in an unforgettable sunset and glassing the slopes for mountain goats and grizzly bears.

Granite Park Chalet is operated as a hikers shelter with room, beds and a full kitchen provided. Guests generally bring their own food, flashlights and sleeping bags. There's a dining room with a stunning view of Heavens Peak and a complete kitchen for guest meal preparations. And for those who don't want to pack in extra weight, there's an optional linen/bedding service and packaged meals for sale.

Cost: $66-$76/person/night, Linen Service: $10/stay

Glacier Wilderness Guides, Inc. is authorized by the National Park Service to manage Granite Park Chalet.
