Big George Gulch Trail (251) is 6.1 miles and recommended for use from mid-spring to mid-fall, difficulty rating moderate to more difficult. The trail transverses a pass and is steep in places. Wildlife attractions include bighorn sheep, mountain goat, mule deer and bear. Obtain a Forest Visitor's map to determine any travel restrictions.

Directions: Follow the Sun Canyon Road 27 miles to Mortimer trailhead parking. The North Fork Sun River Trail 201 starts across the road. Follow the North Fork Trail along the reservoir for 2 miles to Big George Creek. The Big George Gulch Trail 251 starts a short distance west of the creek.
