The church was built in 1889, the year Montana became a state and is outstanding for its graceful steeple, its paintings and stained glass windows. The paintings were done by a brother of the Society of Jesus, a kitchen helper, who painted them in his spare time and turned out to be a master.
Sunday Liturgies - 5:00pm Saturday; 8:00am, 10:00am and 12:00pm Sunday. Daily Mass 8:00am Monday - Saturday.
Directions: To locate St. Francis Xavier Church take I-90 to Orange Street exit. Go South on Orange Street about 1/2 mile.
