Monte's Guiding & Mountain Outfitting is a family business established in 1971. We provide a variety of guided outdoor wildlife and horseback related trips throughout the year.

During April & May, we offer guided float & fishing trips on the upper reach of the Missouri River between the Three Forks and Canyon Ferry Wildlife Management Area. This stretch of the river is inhabited by elk, deer, moose, bear, otter, bobcat, mountain lions, and beaver. Fishing is traditionally good in the spring. Guide and lunch provided; day trips only.

During June, July, and August we guide horseback expeditions into the Big Belt and Elkhorn Mountains. Fish high mountain creeks and lakes; spend a few days and nights camping in the roadless backcountry - watch wildlife, soak up scenery, help work cattle on a local ranch. Guide, lunches, tack, and mountain horses provided.

September through November you can find our guests hunting big game and fishing in southwest and central Montana. Elk and deer hunts are mostly conducted on horseback in the backcountry, on both private and public land. We also guide special species hunts for bighorn sheep, moose, and goat. Drop camps and guided hunts are available throughout the season.

Directions: Monte's Guiding & Mountain Outfitting headquarters is located 12 miles east of Townsend, off US Highway 12 in beautiful Deep Creek Canyon at 16 North Fork Road
