The newly renovated log Lodge boasts two suites each with a queen bed, private bath and separate living room (Russell Suite) or separate sun room (Jefferson Suite). The other two rooms (Lewis and Clark) each come with a private bath and a queen bed. The Great Room, its massive fireplace and custom log work perfectly compliment the view down the canyon formed by the South Fork of the Judith River. The recycled fir, intriguing character logs and the remarkable rock work combine to make the Lodge a wondrous place. The Lodge sits at the head of an aspen lined meadow just above the cabin where Charles M. Russell lived with Jake Hoover in the 1880's when he first arrived in Montana. The Lodge has all the modern conveniences and is as private and serene as any within Montana. If you need the peaceful inspiration of a quiet and undisturbed natural setting to capture the self reflection and state of mind necessary to write or paint or just get away and unwind, then the South Fork Lodge is just the place for you!

Mountain Biking Adventures: The mountain biking in this area of the Little Belt Mountains is phenomenal with miles and miles of all levels of terrain. You will usually be the only bikers on the trails which range from difficult single track to exciting downhill freerides to the more gentle double track through the area's many spectacular limestone canyons. Come and discover Montana 's mountain biking paradise. You can bring your own bikes or we can arrange for rental.

Basin Backroads Tour: On this away trip from the South Fork Lodge, you will enjoy discovering the Central Montana backroads and their inhabitants. Lunch and supper will be served at one of our local eating establishments for an experience of what 'eating out' means when you are in rural Montana . The backroads tour offers an entirely different perspective on the rural culture and its way of life which is based almost completely upon the production of livestock and grain. We will visit some of the area's ranchers and farmers and see first hand the calving, haying and harvesting activities taking place during your time here. The country saloons and the local museums with their focus on the settlement of Central Montana are also favorite stops. This area of Montana is reminiscent of the Montana Steinbeck fell in love with in 1962.

Winter Sports of Cross Country Skiing & Snowmobiling: During the winter months, the Yogo Adventure visitors ski and snowshoe into the surrounding mountainous terrain. There are miles of trails and backcountry territory to challenge and invigorate your outdoor spirit. The Little Belt Mountains are a snowmobiling wonderland with over 300 miles of groomed trails. Visitors may bring their own snowmobiles or we can arrange machine rental for your stay.

Fishing & Hunting: From private pond fishing for large rainbows to fishing the Judith and its tributaries for brookies and cutthroats, anyone interested in fishing will find tremendous angling opportunities in the Judith Basin . Big game & upland bird hunters are also welcome to stay with us during the bow, rifle & bird seasons. The Judith Basin 's famous abundance of wildlife still exists to provide excellent hunting opportunities.

Outdoor Enthusiast: The forested and alpine areas of Western Judith Basin County provide many great hikes with destinations like Mount High (8,200 ft.), Old Baldy (9,175 ft), Yogo Peak (8,801ft.) each providing unparalleled views across the entire central Montana region from Canada to Wyoming . For the avid outdoor enthusiast who enjoys getting away from the crowds, the Little Belts offer endless possibilities where you can hike, bike & climb in solitude at various terrain and skill levels.

Judith River Game Range: Just down the road from the Lodge is the Judith River Game Range which is one of Montana 's best wildlife preserves for elk, deer, antelope, bird and countless other creatures. The Game Range provides terrific photography and wildlife viewing in their natural setting near the confluence of Yogo Creek, the Middle Fork of the Judith and the South Fork of the Judith.
