Not only will you walk the trails of Lewis and Clark but you will be presented with a unique perspective of the Expedition through the eyes of the Blackfeet, Nez Perce, Shoshone, Chinook and Yakima tribes who were key to their survival and success. The series begins with paddling the Upper Missouri and in blackfeet country, Then go overland, hike across the Rocky Mountains through Nez Perce and Shoshone territory, and finally, journey the Columbia Gorge to the Pacific Ocean, home of the Chinook and Yakima. . .The Rocky Mountain Challenge Part 2: Date: July 3 - 8 2005 and August 14 - 19 2005

This six day hiking adventure will explore some of the pivotal moments of the Corps of Discovery's Expedition. Hike to the top of Lemhi Pass to take in the view that disappointed the explores, when they expected to find a river passage. Meet ""Private Parts"" on top of the Pass, Participate in the Puzzle Route of Lost Trail while hiking to the hotsprings and listening to our Shoshone guide and the role of Sacagawea. Hike Gibbon's Pass to the Bighole Battlefield and learn about the Nez Perce Trail and Clark's return route. Engage in a discussion with the Nez Perce guide about the Corp's survival.
