There is a $25 a night usage fee and a maximum stay of five nights. The cabin will accommodate up to six people. Drive to cabin in the summer (6/1 - 9/15). Winter access varies, but it is best to travel from White Sulphur Springs with 4-wheel drive to within three miles away and then ski or snowmobile the rest of the way to the cabin. Trails and high mountain lakes are nearby, and a corral is available for use.

Directions: Thompson Guard Station is located 27 miles northeast of Townsend and 17 miles west of White Sulphur Springs, Montana.
