The Bitterroot Valley Bluegrass Festival is the best Bluegrass Music found anywhere in the state of Montana. A pickers festival! The event begins at 6:00pm on Friday night and will end on Sunday evening with a raffle drawing for a C.F. Martin Model D-28 guitar. Featured groups this year will be from both coasts as well as the northern Rocky Mountain region. The northern Rocky Mountain region will bring various professional groups and from the Bitterroot Valley, we are proud to present several local groups.
Again this year, the Festival will present the very popular ""Instrument Workshops"" for banjos, guitars, fiddles, mandolins and upright bass on Saturday morning starting at 10:00am. This is where the Festival attendees can bring their instruments, ask questions, and learn directly from the professionals. On Sunday morning, there will be a special gospel bluegrass set starting at 9:00am. Also, located throughout the Festival grounds will be a variety of arts and crafts vendors as well as a great selection of various food vendors.
There is dry (no electricity, water or sewer hookups) camping available for $10.00 per unit per day. The Fairgrounds has running water and restroom facilities. Due to Fairgrounds regulations, no alcohol, illegal drugs or dogs are allowed on the site. There are also dry camping spots in a designated area of the fairgrounds for those with animals. Camping sites will be available starting Wed. July 6th on first come, first served basis. Tickets for the Festival can be purchased on arrival or prepaid through the home page at a discount. Directions: Bitterroot Valley Bluegrass Festival is held at the Ravalli County Fairgrounds in Hamilton. Hamilton is located approximately 40 miles south of Missoula on U.S. Highway 93. From Highway 93 in Hamilton, turn east on Fairgrounds Road. Turn left on Old Corvallis Road and follow signs to parking area.
