This day-long festival celebrates Virginia City's gold mining era. A parade, antique mining equipment exhibits, gold panning, and other fun activities are planned.Gold Rush Fever Day represents an unofficial summer season kick off celebration for many of the businesses in Virginia City. In the spirit of Gold Rush Fever, it is the day when someone declares that 'the race is on' and the prize is a fun filled summer of exciting events and old west attractions. Visitors on this day will be treated to a parade, living history demonstrations and a citywide welcome to our town. Enjoy the day touring the exhibits, riding the train, panning for gold, enjoying good food and seeing all of the new things the businesses have to offer for the year. At night, dine at one of our 1st class restaurants, take in a show and meet the locals at one of our popular saloons. When the day is done, nestle in at one of our historic lodging facilities right here in Virginia and Nevada cities or in nearby Ennis, Laurin, Alder or Sheridan. It is the 1st of many fun filled events in legendary Virginia City.
