Montana's premier gathering of competitive hot air and specially shaped balloons takes place in Billings each summer. The festival opens on Thursday with a parade of balloonists in downtown Billings and various other activities throughout the day including a barbecue on the court house lawn. Weather permitting, there will be tethered hot air balloon rides each day along with activities on the balloon grounds.
