Starting Friday morning, the Snow Sculpture contest by the Red Lodge Jaycees gets going at 10:00am. Taking place on the street between the Lucky Dog and the Snow Creek, participants will shape the snow in hopes to win great prizes. That afternoon, the Cardboard Classic most creative judging will take place in the Red Lodge True Value parking lot from 3:00pm to 5:00pm, then at 5:30pm the parade will head down Broadway. These crafts are made strictly of cardboard, tape and glue. Then they are painted and decorated to match the theme. Saturday events at Red Lodge Mountain are the True Value Cardboard Classic Race, Fire Hose Race and Treasure Hunt. Music will be on the Bier Stube deck all afternoon. Saturday evening will feature the ever popular spaghetti dinner, Torchlight Parade and fireworks show. Dinner will start at 5:30pm in the Main Lodge. The Torchlight Parade and fireworks show will begin at dark, around 6:30pm. The budget for the fireworks has been doubled this year, so the show will be the greatest in years. Sign up for the Torchlight Parade starting February 18 in the patrol room at Red Lodge Mountain. Later in the evening in Red Lodge, attend the Snow Ball where the Snow King and Queen of Winter Carnival are crowned. The winners of the snow sculpture contest are announced and their prizes are awarded. Sunday at the mountain, the Scavenger Hunt will get going with great prizes for the winners and participants. The quest to crown the King and Queen of the Mountain will begin. If you can ski, snowboard and Telemark ski the fastest, you will be crowned the King or Queen of Red Lodge Mountain. The race and registration will take place on Bobcat from 10:00am - 2:00pm. This will be a fun three days of Winter Carnival events.
