The lodge offers endless opportunity for outdoor adventure and exploration. Activity abounds in the summer, highlighted by fly fishing, horseback riding whitewater rafting, kayaking, mountain biking, hiking, and exploring nearby Yellowstone National Park.
Just 15 miles from Big Sky Ski Resort and Moonlit Basin Resort, the Rainbow Ranch Lodge is the perfect staging point for a myriad of winter activity as well. With more than 4,000 acres of skiable terrain and an annual average of more than 400 inches of snow per year, Big Sky is a true gem of western skiing. Other popular winter activities surrounding the Rainbow Ranch Lodge include cross-country skiing on 75 kilometers of groomed trails, guided winter tours of Yellowstone National Park, snowshoeing into the miles of Montana backcountry bordering the property, snowmobiling, dogsledding and winter fly fishing.
Directions: Just 40 miles south of Bozeman, Rainbow Ranch Lodge is located on the Gallatin River 5 miles south of the entrance to the Big Sky Ski Resort on Highway 191. We are nestled between the Gallatin and Madison Mountain Ranges of the Rocky Mountains, 12 miles north of the boundary of Yellowstone National Park.
