Squaw Peak Trail (707) is a steep day hike from Missoula. The drive takes about an hour and a half. This is a popular trail to Squaw Peak. On a good visibility day you can almost see Flathead Lake.

Length: 3.0 miles.Trail Begins: Forest Road 2178.Trail Ends: Junction with Trail 98, Reservation Divide, near Squaw Peak

Directions: Take I-90 west from Missoula to Exit 82, Ninemile Road. Go approximately 2 miles, then turn north just before Ninemile House Restaurant. Go 2 miles to four-way Junction. Proceed straight on Remount Road 476 for 2 miles, then bear northwest (left) on 5490 for 1.5 miles, then turn west on 456. Continue 1 mile turn north (right) on 2178, and it is approximately 6.5 miles to Squaw Peak Trail 707.
