Spotted Bear Ranch, located in the heart of North America's most beautiful wilderness area, is home to the ultimate Adventure Vacation. Whether your interests are fly fishing for wild cutthroat trout on Montana's most pristine and inaccessible river, horse-packing into the Bob Marshall Wilderness, or hunting Rocky Mountain Big Game, Spotted Bear Ranch is your destination.
While we're located in a remote spot 55 miles from the nearest highway, guest accommodations at Spotted Bear Ranch are among the finest in the West. You'll enjoy the privacy of one of our five solid and modernized two-bedroom log cabins. Rustic on the outside, inside they offer all the comforts of home - flush toilets, showers, carpeted floors, central heat, wood-burning fireplaces and daily maid service.
The historic main lodge, poised on a bluff overlooking the Flathead River's pristine South Fork, is a warm and wonderful place. Our trophy room features a sunken conversation area surrounding a huge fire pit, club chairs and lots of good company.
One more thing: meals at Spotted Bear Ranch are exceptional, served family-style in our large dining room. You won't go hungry and you won't want to go home.
It's a great place to bring the family or weary executives. There's so much to do: relax, ride horses, hike, swim, fish, camp, or float the river. Just ask and we'll design a special 3 to 5 day get-away-from-it-all vacation or retreat geared specially to suit the needs of everyone in your group.
The lodge has capacity for 16 guests. Each group enjoys a private, carpeted log cottage with fireplace. A unique Wilderness Pack & Float Expedition is available on the South Fork for up to 6 guests. 2002 Orvis Endorsed Expedition of the year. Fall trophy big game hunts are available in the wilderness and from the ranch.
Directions: Spotted Bear Ranch is located 55 miles southeast of Hungry Horse, Montana, directly south of Glacier National Park. To get there take either the East or West Hungry Horse Reservoir road toward the Spotted Bear Ranger Station. We're on the west side of the road; look for the Spotted Bear Ranch roadside sign. Be sure to call us before coming up for the latest road conditions
