The 1500 acre Grant-Kohrs Ranch National Historic Site illustrates the development of the Northern Plains cattle industry from the 1850's to recent times. This was the headquarters area of one of the largest and best known 19th-century range ranches in the country. Today the ranch house, bunkhouse and outbuildings are much as they were during ranch operations from the 1860's through the 1960's.

Guided tours of the house, self-guiding walks and exhibits are available. Vehicles are left at the visitor center and visitors must walk 1/4 mile on a paved trail to the ranch. A unit of the Ranch is open daily year round; a nominal fee is charged from May - September.

As you walk around the ranch, you'll see activities that recall the days of old time cowboys as well as modern ranchers. Demonstrations are part of the work of the ranch and you are invited to observe and ask questions.

A visitor center with restrooms is located at the site. Picnic and overnight facilities are not available. The ranch is open daily 8:00am - 5:30pm May - September; the rest of the year 9:00am - 4:30pm.
