Montana Wild West Fest

The festival is a celebration of our Frontier History. One event will actually start Friday, September 2 - The Cowboy Mounted Shooting Association (CMSA) North Mountain Regional Finals. The main gate will be open for admission to this event on September 2.

Saturday morning, September 3, the Fest officially begins at 10:00 AM. Opening ceremonies will kick off the Labor Day Fest. Continuous entertainment at The Outpost Stage will change every hour. The Western Trade Show will be open, within the town site of Prairie Dog Town, where western enthusiasts can purchase a wide variety of merchandise. Western art and displays will be set in the surrounding exhibit buildings, as well as equine seminars. Don't miss the Living History Encampment, complete with frontier era wagons, shelters, artisans and displays.

High noon will be an exciting time in Prairie Dog Town, when gunslingers and lawmen wage battle, six-guns blazing away. Entertainment for everyone is slated at The Wild West Fest!

The Wild West Show will be presented in the large arena Sunday, starting at 2:00 PM. Folks will be entertained with a rousing, colorful spectacle reminiscent of the old-fashioned Wild Bill Cody extravaganza.

Saturday night at 7:30 PM The Frontier Ball will be held in the large barn with a live contra band. Ladies in hoop skirts and gents in period clothing will dance to old-time reels and jigs.

Sunday is Family Day - and the morning starts out with the Cowboy Chapel open to the public.

Monday is a day of recognition for Senior Citizens and Veterans. The main arena will hold Ridin' for the Brand, a Ranch Competition. Ridin', ropin' and many other ranch skills will be displayed in this event, with the highest scoring 'wrangler' taking home the trophy for this ranch.

The Montana Wild West Fest will be an annual event over the Labor Day Weekend - an event that can be on the calendar for everyone to attend!
