Family Fun Day: Rediscover Giant Springs as you can picnic, enjoy a magic show, listen to interpretive presentations and tours, and do not forget to meet Monte our National Mascot of the Year. All State Park Fees are waived for this special event. Weather is often variable in early May so please bring proper attire. 8:30 AM to 9 AM .Nature/ History walk along River's Edge Trail from Giant Springs to the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center 10 AM to 10:30 AM .Nature/ History walk along River's Edge Trail from the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center to Giant Springs State Park 11 AM .Meet Monte! After meeting our very own Monte from the University of Montana, the National Mascot of the Year, join park ranger Chris for a 20-minute program on the differences between Grizzly Bears and Black Bears 12 PM .Magic Show with Don Lujan, bring a lunch and watch local magician Don Lujan perform a 45 minute magic show in Giant Springs State Park 1 PM.Fire Making on the Lewis & Clark Expedition, join park ranger Chris for a half hour program on fire making methods 2 PM.Feed the Fish! Free fish food will be given out between 2 PM and 2:30 PM. Feed our enormous trout in our show pond or our smaller soon to be released fish 3 PM.Four guided fish hatchery tours will occur between 3 PM and 4 PM. First come first serve basis, as a limited amount of visitors will be allowed in the fish hatchery 4 PM .To conclude Family Fun Day four guided Giant Springs Tours will occur between 4 PM and 5 PM as we will tour Roe River, Giant Springs, and the 77-year old stone marker showcasing Giant Springs as a National Historic Landmark.
