Lincoln Iditarod Day |
Lincoln Iditarod Day - The mushers from Montana who will participate in the 2005, 1100 mile Alaska Iditarod Sled Dog Race will be in Lincoln for the 5th annual Iditarod Day on April 9, 2005 at the Historic Lincoln Community Hall. The celebration starts at 2:00pm.
The eight Montana mushers who participated in last years race, as well as Doug Swingley, four time World Champion, and many of the past Iditarod Montana Mushers, joined us last year to sign autographs and answer questions. Musher equipment and gear will be on display and a detailed description of the process a musher takes to train and qualify for the 'Last Great Race'.
In the past, visitors from 11 states and 44 Montana towns have participated, Cake and coffee will be served. This annual event is made possible by volunteers and the generosity of local merchants.
Directions: Lincoln Iditarod Day will be held in the Lincoln Community Hall in downtown Lincoln, Highway 200.
