Join an interpretive specialist at Giant Springs State Park for a special Flag Day presentation on Captain Clark's African American slave, York. York endured the long journey, but in return was given many freedoms and York's interesting life.

Park fees apply to non residents only, $5.00 per car. Bring a lawn chair or blanket and dress appropriately for weather conditions. If the weather does not cooperate, we will move the program to the Fish, Wildlife and Parks headquarters conference room across from the park.

Directions: Freedom of York will be held at Giant Springs State Park, located 1/4 mile east of the Lewis & Clark National Historic Trail Interpretive Center. Follow River Road heading east along the Missouri River. Keep following the river and you will turn onto Giant Springs Road which will take you to Giant Springs State Park.
