Montana State Chili Cook-off |
Montana State Chili Cookoff - Chili cooks from Texas, Nebraska, Washington, Wyoming, North Dakota and Montana arrive annually the first Saturday in June in Miles City to compete in the RSVP State Championship Chili Cookoff. Contestants start the day at a hosted breakfast. they may compete in four categories: bean, green chili, red chili and junior. Participants will cook to the sounds of blue grass music all day. Food booths will be open and the public can buy chili tasting cups in the afternoon and taste the cooks chili.
Children's activities will include: face painting, baby pig races, putting green and a bike rally hosted by Holy Rosary Hospital. Last year youths competed in a free bike drawing and every youth that attended were given free helmets. Proceeds go to the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program.
