Festivities begin at 7:00 am with a guided bird walk and breakfast to follow. At 9:00am, opening ceremonies: Caledonians bag pipes and present their colors. Activities will include shooting of period canon, horse drawn wagon rides and many activities for families throughout the day. There will also be several speakers about the Lewis & Clark era, poetry and a buffalo feed. There will be a 5th Infantry encampment held at the Custer County Art Center in conjunction with Clark on the Lower Yellowstone event. An exhibit of L.A. Huffman historical prints of early Miles City are on display in the Art Center. Several speakers will give historical and Lewis and Clark era presentations. We will have a Native American story teller, cowboy poetry, and period music. We will have Native American dancers and drummers for 2 performances before and after lunch. This will be a family affair with horseback riding, horse drawn wagon rides, games, a track trunk and rubber tracks of wildlife and ink pads so kids can make up track stories, coloring books, Little Pomp, and we will once again have the Newfoundland dogs. There is no cost for attending any of the activities, only for the breakfast, lunch and drinks. Lunch will be buffalo and fry bread for dessert. Come and relive history in Lewis and Clark's eyes.
