This is an opportunity to learn traditional design and the making of items of Indian art at a Blackfoot Culture Camp throughout the summer of 2005 near Glacier National Park. These experiences for those who love art and wish to learn about art as a spiritual expression of Indian people that lives today in their traditions and beliefs.

Our Blackfoot Culture Camps give people the opportunity to learn all aspects of culture, with special focus on history before the Europeans came, our history since this time, ancient and modern traditions, beliefs, art, law and language in an informal and friendly way. And most of all it is meant to be an experience for the entire family. . .Those who attend should plan on bringing their own tents, sleeping bags, hiking shoes, personal items and some warm clothing since our summer evenings can be cool, especially as we sit around the camp fire for story telling time. . .The food we serve is wholesome and from Indian food recipes. Vegetarians are not to worry since the menus cater to their needs as well. . .Our camps are but a stone throw from Glacier National Park where we conduct tours featuring the Indian perspective of our world and the uses of plants and animals for food and ceremony. . .These camps introduce you to colorful Indian celebrations where cameras are welcome. You will be visiting historic and spiritually significant sites, such as Head Smashed In Buffalo Jump. You will also be able to view and purchase the work of Blackfoot and other Indian artisans. . .Our camps have colorful Blackfoot painted lodges that are used to impart the teachings of our ancestors. Books by local and other Indian writers will be available to help you, your relatives and friends learn more long after you have departed for home. . .These camps are very popular and will fill up quickly so you are urged to make reservations and make deposits to insure your place in the camp. If you desire our help with driving directions, train, bus and airplane service then you need only ask. Please contact us for your individual, family or group cost rates.
