Historic Preservation Days are celebrated in communities all over America. Begun by the National Trust for Historic Preservations in 1971, the celebration is intended to highlight the various histories that have created our nation. It has grown into an annual celebration observed from small towns to big cities, with events ranging from tours, reenactments and rallies to black-tie balls and national competitions. Usually celebrated in late May, Bozeman's Historic Preservation Advisory Board, in conjunction with the City of Bozeman and the National Trust, plans many local events intended to promote historical places for the purposes of instilling community pride, promoting heritage tourism and showcasing the social and economic benefits of historic preservation. Directions: Historic Preservation Days will be held in various locations throughout Bozeman. Call Jim Jenks at 582-2372 for location information.
