Sweet Grass Fest |
Sweet Grass Fest features a full day of family fun in conjunction with Rodeo Weekend in Big Timber. Street vendors will be set up throughout the day with arts and crafts, photography, antiques, memorabilia and a variety of down home country cooking. Running enthusiast may take part in the 5K Walk/Run and 10K Run and the entire family will want top take a step back in time aboard the horse drawn wagon. Activities will take place throughout the day, sure to entertain and delight adults and children of all ages. Visitors are invited to visit any of the historic downtown businesses or take a trip to the Crazy Mountain Museum. There you can discover much of the history of Sweet Grass County, view the elegant diorama of early Big Timber and see the many impressive historic displays. The Rodeo Parade begins at 2:00pm and the Saturday Rodeo performance takes place at the Fairgrounds later in the evening.
The Crazy Mountains overlook Sweet Grass County to the north and the Absaroka Mountains lie in the distance to the south. Visitors may want to try their luck fishing in one of the many blue ribbon fishing streams and rivers in the area. Or do a bit of horse back riding at one of the many guest ranches in the area.
Directions: Sweet Grass Fest will be located on the downtown streets of Big Timber. Turn south on McLeod Street to find downtown Big Timber and all of the Sweet Grass Fest activities
.A 5K Walk/Run and 10K Run will begin at 9:00am. Street vendors, horse drawn wagon rides, demonstrations, historic information and games will begin at 10:00am. In-store special sales will take place throughout the day. The Rodeo Parade will begin at 2:00pm.
