Big Mountain Resort in Whitefish offers 78 marked runs, 2,500 vertical feet, over 335 inches average snowfall and unlimited open bowl and gladed powder skiing. The resort area encompasses more than 3,000 acres. Located at the base of the resort is a 16 kilometer Nordic Center, professionally designed and maintained with a 14 foot wide skating lane and a track set lane. Lodging space is available for 1,500 skiers in the Village next to the lifts and for over 2,000 just eight miles away in the ski town Whitefish. Big Mountain can easily handle groups year round.

Big Mountain is a popular destination for skiers from virtually all parts of North America. Fine dining, live music, dancing, sleigh rides and wine/cheese parties are apres' ski activities for anyone skiing at Big Mountain. Every year the Whitefish Winter Carnival draws large crowds for a miniature winter Mardi-Gras-of-the-North. Located in the northwest corner of the state, neighboring Glacier National Park, Big Mountain offers a full-service alpine village. From the summit of the mountain, skiers in the winter and hikers in the summer enjoy views of the peaks of Glacier National Park, the Canadian Rockies, and the entire Fathead Valley. Winter activities on Big Mountain include, but are not limited to: skiing, snowboarding, x-country skiing, tubing, snowshoeing, sleigh rides, and guided snowmobile rentals. Instruction: Group $30/2 Hours, Private $72/Hour. Skill-builder, snowboard, telemark and Cross-country lessons. Specialty clinics include Woman's Workshop, Men's Workshop, snowboard camp.

Food and Drink: Six restaurants and saloons on the mountain. Summit House features view of Glacier Park.

Just For Kids: Day care, kid's ski school and free skiing for children under 6. Children 12 and under stay free in most on-mountain lodging properties.
