The history of Clark Bottom extends back into the past a long way. Some say all the way back to the Ice Age Men some 12,000 years ago. Our Crow friends have been here for several centuries. Given this history and the advent of the Lewis and Clark Bicentennial celebration, it is only natural to want to know more about this era. The American mountain men also encamped here from the documented 1823 to 1840. With the history of these men present and among us at least since the gathering of Jim Bridger and the other mountain men who spent the winter of 1836-1837 here while they were visiting Fort Union, looking at Canada, their description of the flora and fauna in and around Clark Bottom is wonderful. Relieve the scenery and the ways of the mountain men while learning the trades of the times during the 7th Annual Clark Bottom Rendezvous. The location should be very convenient for visitors. Access is easy off Interstate 90 as well as Highway 212 South. The Rendezvous celebrates living history events spanning the time of the beaver men while focusing on the Lewis and Clark Expedition of 1804-1806. Entertainment, presentations and workshops will be given. There will be a trader's row, quiet camp and powder matches.
