Only the lower mile of the creek provides fair fishing for eastern brook trout. The area has been logged repeatedly since the early 1900s.
Directions: From Fortine travel south 2 miles on US Highway 93 and turn right onto Fortine Creek Road. Drive 18 miles south on Fortine Creek Road 36, then turn right at West Fortine Creek Road 3532 and turn left.
If traveling north past Dickey Lake on US Highway 93, turn left at the north end of Dickey Lake, at the Trego turnoff. This road meets Fortine Creek Road 36 within 3 miles. From this point travel south for 15 miles.
